This is an OMHA Sanctioned Tournament. 

All teams must present their “OMHA Approved Roster,” or other governing body  approved team roster or cards (example Alliance Teams) before participating in their first game. Please try to do so 45 minutes  before the first game. 

All OMHA playing rules will apply plus the Grant Lee Memorial Tournament Rules as  approved by the Committee and listed below. 

VERBAL OR PHYSICAL ABUSE: Any team official, player or parent found to be  abusive toward ANY TOURNAMENT OFFICIAL, PARTICIPANT, VOLUNTEER OR  SPECTATOR, whether ON-ICE or OFF will be expelled from further tournament  participation or admission. Further, any attempt by any team official, player or parent to  FURTHER verbally or physically intimidate any game official, tournament participant,  tournament volunteer, or spectator will result in expulsion from the tournament of the  entire team, with no refund of any tournament registration fees. The final decision  regarding expulsion will be made by the Tournament Director and will not be negotiable  once made. The Mid-Huron Huskies rents the arena building/facilities for these events  and therefore has full legal rights in allowing or not allowing any persons’ access. Any  problems in this area of the rules will be enforced by calling in the O.P.P. 

GAME PLAY RULES 

1. All team officials must sign the iPad prior to the start of the games. The iPads will be in the tournament office. Team officials are not to take the Ipads from the tournament office.

2. Round Robin, Semi Final and Final Games will be 10-10-15. No overtime or time outs in round robin games. One 30-second timeout per team will be allowed in Semi Final & Final games. U18 games will flood every 2 periods.

3. Round robin games will be played for points as follows 

2 points for a win 

1 point for a tie 

0 points for a loss 

In the event of a tie in points at the conclusion of round robin play, the following  sequential procedure will be used to break the tie.

Least Penalty minutes 

Flip a coin 

Overtime in Final games (No overtime in Round Robin play) will consist of a 10 minute sudden victory period with 3 skaters and 1 goalie. If a team is penalized in overtime,  teams will play  4 on 3 until the penalty expires.  When the penalty expires the play will  continue 4 on 4 until the first whistle then will return to 3 on 3.

If still tied after 10 minute overtime, a 3 player shootout will follow. If the score still  remains tied, a sudden victory shootout will occur. All skaters must shoot before any  shooter may shoot a second time. Shooters will go at the same time. 


Teams may pull their goalie during sudden victory periods. 

Home ice for all final games shall be designated by the tournament schedule

In the event of a jersey conflict, the home team will change their jerseys.

4. Mercy rule will apply for a 5 goal differential moving the game to straight time until the end of the game or the differential drops below 5 again. 

5. All referee calls are final 

Any penalties or suspensions will be determined by the referees and will follow OMHA  guidelines. Suspensions will be served during the tournament.

Additional games/penalties due to outside circumstances will be determined by OMHA  after submission of tournament information upon completion. 

6. The tournament director reserves the right to make all decisions regarding  tournament rules, regulations or protests.

In the case of inclement weather, if a team is unable to make a scheduled game, then a  1-0 score will be given to the opposing team. Games will not be canceled by the tournament coordinator due to inclement weather. 

Games will start NO MORE THAN 20 minutes ahead of schedule if referees/linesmen  are ready. Teams are not to go on the ice until at least 1 ref is present.
