The C Championship was between the Wingham Ironmen Yellow and the South Huron Sabres.
The Sabres scored first in the game with a goal at the midway point of the first period. The Ironmen responded with their own goal with just over a minute remaining in the period. The Ironmen then added a second goal about 30 seconds later. 2-1 ironmen after the first.
The second period saw the Ironmen extend their lead with a third goal 5 minutes into the second period (3-1 Ironmen lead). The Ironmen added a fourth goal halfway through the period with a screened shot from the point on the powerplay. The Sabres responded with a goal of their own a few minutes later to make it 4-2. The Ironmen then got into a bit of penalty trouble and found themselves 2 men down. The Sabres took advantage of the opportunity and scored a powerplay goal to narrow their deficit to just a goal. 4-3 Ironmen after two periods.
The third period was closely played but it was the Ironmen with the edge as they scored a powerplay goal with 5 minutes left in the period to go up 5-3. The Sabres played hard to the end but the 5-3 score held up with the Wingham Ironmen Yellow claiming the C Championship. As the PA announcer said at the conclusion of the game... "hats off to both teams!"
