Jamboree Rules & Regulations
The guidelines for hosting a “Jamboree” for initiation aged players has a focus oriented on fun. Mid Huron Minor Hockey is focused on making minor hockey a positive experience for all involved from players, coaches, parents and fans. This is NOT a tournament; it is for FUN! No scoring, standings, or statistics will be recorded.
This is an OMHA sanctioned Jamboree. OMHA and OHF rules apply. Each team is guaranteed 4 games.
Jamboree Games will be a modified half-ice format with the nets set up as per OMHA guidelines. The lightweight blue puck will be used (supplied by MHMHA). Face-offs will only occur to start each game. It will be a 5 versus 5 format (including the goalie), unless both teams agree to an alternate number of skaters prior to game start. Please have 1 bench staff per team on the ice with each game.
Shift length is set on a 2-minute buzzer; games are set at 40 minutes. No penalties, offsides, or icings are to be called. If your team plays before/after the flood we would appreciate your on ice bench staff to support moving the boards for ice resurfacing.
There will be no warm ups prior to each game. Teams are expected to be ready to go on the ice 10 minutes prior to their scheduled start time. Failure to do so may result in shortened game lengths to maintain the Jamboree’s set schedule.
Parents and guests are the responsibility of the team. Inappropriate parent or guest behaviour towards the competing team, any children, officials, coaches, arena staff, Jamboree staff, OMHA staff and/or other parents may result in the expulsion of the team from the tournament.
