"C" Championship: Huskies 2 vs Attack
The "C" Championship game was between the Mid-Huron Huskies 2 and the Thamesford Attack.
The game opened with the Huskies taking a penalty in the first minute. This was followed by coincidental minor penalties by both teams a minute later. Things settled down a bit after that as both teams got their feet under them. The Attack opened the scoring with a few minutes left in the period by firing the puck "top shelf" from the low slot.
The Huskies took a penalty a couple minutes into the second period. On the ensuing power play, however, it was the Huskies who scored a shorthanded goal to tie the game 1-1. Midway through the period, the Huskies took a 2-1 lead. Near the end of the period, the Huskies made it 3-1 with a goal on a puck flipped up from behind the goal line that somehow rattled around until it made it into the Attack's net.
Although the Attack had carried the play for the first two periods, they found themselves trailing 3-1 at the start of the third. This period was more evenly played and both goalies stood tall - turning away all shots directed towards them. The game ended 3-1 with the Mid-Huron Huskies 2 as the "C" Champions.
