The final game of the tournament saw the New Hamburg Huskies and South Huron Sabres Red playing for the "A" Championship title.
This game would turn out to be a goal fest but you wouldn't have suspected it from the first half of the first period. However... from the halfway mark onwards there were 7 goals scored in under 8 minutes. The goals were all even strength and came fast and furious. The Huskies scored two goals only 44 seconds apart to open the scoring and go up 2-0. The Sabres replied a few minutes later with two goals of their own, also 44 seconds apart, to tie the game at 2-2. The Huskies answered back a minute later by scoring 3 goals in under two minutes to end the period with a 5-2 lead.
The second period saw the Sabres chip away at the Huskies lead with a goal of their own (shorthanded) a minute and a half in to make the score 5-3 Huskies. Unfortunately for the Sabres a couple minutes later things went off the rails as the Huskies potted 5 goals in 3 minutes to stake a commanding 10-3 lead. To the Sabres' credit they didn't quit and were able to answer back with a goal of their own before the second period ended.
The third period saw the Sabres capitalize on a Huskies' penalty by scoring a power play goal where the Sabres' player stickhandled around a couple defenders before firing the puck into the roof of the net. The goal didn't faze the Huskies though as they scored a goal in response just 30 seconds later to make the score 11-5 in their favour. The Huskies added another couple goals, one with 4.5 minutes to go and another in the final minute, to cement their win over the Sabres at 13-5 and claim the "A" Championship.

As this marks the end of this year's 2024 Doug Perkes Memorial Tournament, the Tournament Committee would like to thank all 16 teams that participated.
