The final game of the tournament saw the Mid-Huron Huskies #2 and Listowel Cyclones competing for the "A" Championship.
The Cyclones got off to a great start in this game by scoring just 7 seconds into the period to establish a 1-0 lead. Five minutes later they added another goal to stretch their lead to 2-0 by the end of the period.
The Cyclones stalled a bit in the early part of the second period as they took a tripping penalty 2 minutes. Although the Huskies weren't able to capitalize on the man advantage, they did get there first couple a couple minutes after the power play ended. The Cyclones answered right back and restored their 2 goal lead by scoring within just over 30 seconds to make the score 3-1 in their favour. The Cyclones took a cross-checking penalty a few minutes later but were able to hold off the Huskies while a player short. The Cyclones had a shot on each of a couple breakaways in the last half of the period that the Huskies goalie turned but the Cyclones were able to get another goal to make the score 4-1 at the end of the 2nd period.
The Huskies took a tripping penalty early in the third period which delayed their come back attempt. However, they got momentum from a successful penalty kill and rode it to a goal a minute or so after the penalty kill finished. They had reduced the deficit to 2 goals again (4-2) and there was still over 10 minutes to play in the game. The Cyclones again demonstrated their resilience and scored a goal in less than a minute again to make the score 5-2.After that, the Cyclones put the game away by scoring 3 goals over the next 5 minutes and then capped it off with a final goal with 4 seconds left. Final score: 9-2 for the Listowel Cyclones - "A" Champions.

As this marks the end of the 2023 Doug Perkes Memorial Tournament, the Tournament Committee would like to thank all 11 teams that participated in this year's tournament.
